Patrick Hayes, St. John's College, University of Oxford

Patrick Hayes is a Fellow of St John’s College, University of Oxford. His research focuses on debates about the nature and value of literature, from the Romantic period to the present day. He is the author of J. M. Coetzee and the Novel: Writing and Politics after Beckett (2010) and Philip Roth: Fiction and Power (2014). He is currently working on a history of life-writing in the period after 1945, for Oxford University Press.
