Marijke Huisman, Utrecht University

Marijke Huisman (1972), co-founder of IABA Europe, teaches Cultural History at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Her fields of expertise are Life writing, Philosophy of History, Memory Studies and Public History. She published Verhalen van vrijheid. Autobiografieën van slaven in transnationaal perspectief, 1789-2013 [Freedom stories. Slave narratives in transnational perspective, 1789-2013] (Hilversum: Verloren, 2015) and co-edited Life writing matters in Europe (Heidelberg: Universitätsverlag Winter, 2012) .
